I have had new battery fitted. Same problem, I did try start the car on flat battery and the flashing spanner light comes up, would this be the BCM?

Many thanks. You are correct in thinking the BCM is responsible for those other features — although they are not affected by the issue described.

My 1. When I turn the key all the way the red battery light disappears, when I release key it comes back?? You need to trace the missing 12v feed from the starter back to see where the issue lies. It could potentially be an ECU problem but you must first confirm this with the aid of a wiring diagram. When I turn the key all the way the red battery light disappears, when I release key it comes back.

HiMy corsa reg battery was flat for more than a month and I changed with new battery! After changing with new battery red battery sign and a car with a spanner through the centre are showing on screen!

And it is not Turning the ignition but radio or other light are working fine! Can you help me what is this and why it is happening and if you can help by fixing it? Unfortunately, Bridgewater is outside of our catchment area.

I suggest finding someone more local to you.My battery died yesterday, and after a jump start everything sorted itself out, apart from the radio. It's the standard radio that came with the car cdr or something? The display only has the time, date and temp on, and doesn't say anything about safe mode, and I've tried the power button a few times as well, as well as checking relevant fuses.

Any ideas how I could get it working again? Their is also a 10 amp fuse fits on back of the CD player it self. Worth checking that as well. You gonna need to remove the CD player. To remove CD player, there are 4'allen key small screws that need to be removed first and then there special pins slide in to those 4 hole at the same time and pull the CD player out.

I had a an identical challenge with my ninety six polo. It would be a predicament with the air con or fan intake. In entrance of the windscreen there are holes for the vents. These have a run-off drain, and in mine, this grew to become clogged with leaves and grime. This prompted water to build up and float over into the air blower filter, by means of the fan, and into the passenger compartment at the back of the glove compartment. If you could, take off the quilt over the filter and see if it can be clogged up.

Either that, or do you might have a sunroof? In my girlfriends saxo, the sunroof was leaking, and the water was jogging down the A-pillar to at the back of the sprint. It wasn't pouring, more of a trickle. That radio has a small fuse in the back of the unit, you have to remove the radio unit to replace it.

With a replacement due inhow does the current generation model fare against a plethora of ultra-competitive superminis such as the Skoda Fabia, Citroen C3 and Nissan Micra?

Did you know?

It represents great value for money, particularly if you choose some of the added-value special-trim models, although competitors such as the new Nissan Micra and Citroen C3 offer a bit more character in a tough segment. When the latest Vauxhall Corsa was revealed at the Paris Motor Show, many were quite critical about its appearance.

It looked largely like its predecessor, which had been around sincebut with a new family face plastered on the front. Vauxhall insisted every panel was new, however. And, in our eyes, the latest Corsa has got more attractive over time and is certainly one of the quirkier superminis on sale behind, perhaps, cars such as the latest Citroen C3. Regular special editions also help its forecourt appeal. Dropping the rear seats makes for a uneven boot floor, but luggage space is increased to 1, litres.

It also works as a safety feature, automatically contacting the emergency services when the airbags are activated and pinpointing your exact location. Feedback is lacking, but ride comfort is exemplary when specced with the standard suspension and wheels.

Despite its age, it still deals with city bumps really well. The organisation criticised it for falling short on systems such as autonomous emergency braking, and only offering lane guidance as an option rather than standard fit.

Six airbags are fitted as standard, while the revised front-end design of the latest model is said to absorb impacts better than before. The colours available depend on the trim level you opt for.

There are no fewer than 11 trim levels available on the Corsa, not including the high-performance VXR model. It can all easily get very confusing. The standard range starts with the entry-level Sting with its cruise control, standard radio CD player, heated windscreen and inch alloy wheels. The Sting R adds black bonnet stripes, sports suspension and VX-Line touches inside, while Energy models get the seven-inch infotainment system a must in our opinionair-con, heated front seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensitive wipers and front fog lights.

Poor whiplash protection for rear-seat passengers brought the overall score down, meaning the Corsa trails five-star rivals like the Ford Fiesta and Renault Clio.

Every Corsa comes with lane departure warning and lane assist, speed sign recognition and automatic emergency braking as standard; rear parking sensors are added on SRI cars, Ultimate Nav models get adaptive cruise control and SE Nav brings lane departure warning with lane-keep assist.

Top-spec cars also bring sophisticated LED matrix headlights, but all models get standard LED items that are very effective. The latest Corsa is too new to have been featured in our Driver Power customer satisfaction surveywhile the last model languished in 92nd place in the survey; Vauxhall itself fared poorly too, finishing 29th out of 30 manufacturers.

Was going to do a reset but haven't yet - may try tomorrow. Still hoping it somehow fixes itself by tomorrow my onstar did when that broke but I foresee a trip to the dealer If so what was the solution? Ive had exactly the same problem. My onstar is working fine so speakers okay but no other audio. I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes which sorted the problem.

Did you find a solution? I attempted to disconnect the battery but there appears to be something else on top of it not making easy access to the terminals.

It cam back briefly for a few days and has now gone completely. I was advised that this fault may not be under warranty, is this correct?

I had my entire R3 intellilink replaced under warranty. Unfortunately the new one was identical in every respect. If yours has the volume knob centre bottom it is a R4 and they sometimes self-update over the air.

If it does not right itself after an overnight shut down with doors locked you can either try disconnecting battery neg terminal for 30 minutes or take it in for warranty fix. Follow Us. Im thinking maybe the power wire is trapped in the gears because sometimes when i put it in reverse the car makes a crunching noise.?

vauxhall corsa radio problems

Two different issues, I'm afraid When you change gear the engine moves around a bit - it is designed to - and this could be pulling on a cable, I guess. First I'd look again at the connections at the back of the radio. Tell me - is it an original set or a set you have fitted? Burnerman16 Dec If you can get a mate to give it full throttle whilst you're blowing down the exhaust pipe then this IME usually dislodges the rogue wire. This can be cured by tuning the radio into satellite only broadcasts, which are much more available now that NASA have stopped pretending to send old London red bus's into orbit.

Dork Lard16 Dec Hi john I bought the car second hand and the seller fit his own radio. I could take a picture of the back if this would help? Certainly the original radio connections are pretty foolproof and rarely fail.

For info, if another set is fitted there's often a connector block available which basically allows the original vehicle wiring loom to connect with an aftermarket set - motor factors or Halfords can provide such a device. By all means give us a pic of the connections that have been done, but I'd always solder any wires together and cover the join with heat shrink tube I really think this is where your problems lie.

Dork lord are you being seriously about pulling the cable and what would this fix thanks? John the person already soldered the wire and put it in a heat proof tube I don't see any other problems with it. Well, there are three wires that could cause your problem All of these connections must be secure It may be the live wire ignition feed but would that explain the gear change problem? The crunching into reverse? A clutch problem as per my first reply At the end of the day you may need a new clutch but make sure the pedal can be depressed fully - no carpet in the way or whatever.

Here are some images attached, I also changed the fuse which was broken as when I first got the car the radio wasnt switching on. I have to say, all of the connections at the back of the set look just fine I'm just concerned that if it is the sets proper earth - and it isn't connected - the set will be getting its earth through another means Before you do anything though - check for any voltage in that black wire.
